Welcome to Year Four.  

The teaching team this year is Miss Willis and Mrs Ballett (Monday-Wednesday) and Mr Harden (Thursday-Friday). Miss Crane is the Teaching Assistant with Ms Walton and Mrs Sweeny remaining with the year group to support specific children, The teachers’ planning time is on a Tuesday morning when Miss Freeman and Mr Harden will teach RE and Computing. If you wish to speak to any of the staff, please put a note in your child's diary or arrange an appointment through the office.    

• PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  As the weather will be getting cooler, can children please make sure they have warmer PE clothes for our outdoor sessions. 

• Spelling tests will be on a Tuesday – these words can be found in the Home School diary.  Please remember to LOOK, COVER, WRITE, CHECK to help practise.  

• Homework will be given out on a Tuesday, to be returned by the following Tuesday.   

• We will have a times table test at the end of the week on Friday.   

This half term we are looking into Florida for our geography topic and understanding that there is more to the Sunshine State than Disneyland.  In science, we are going to be looking at how we group and classify living things. In PE, we will be beginning to develop our skills in cross-country running and netball. In DT, we will be making our own pencil cases. 

In maths, we will be looking at place value and understanding the relationship between the columns.  

Our books this half term in English is “An interview with a Tiger and other beasts too" by Andy Seed and “I Don’t Believe it Archie!” by Andrew Norriss.
