Special Educational Needs Provision at Bickleigh Down C of E Primary School

At Bickleigh Down C of E. School, we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress and outcomes for all of our pupils whatever their needs or abilities.

Within our school, we categorise our provision within a Pyramid of Inclusion. This pyramid is divided into three tiers: Tier 1, 2 and 3. Interventions and expected outcomes for SEN pupils will be monitored and reviewed regularly. Please click on the link for details of our Pyramid of Inclusion.

For children identified as requiring support that is above and beyond normal classroom support and interventions, an individual provision plan will be written. This provision plan will indicate specific, measurable and achievable targets and how these will be met and it will be discussed with the parent and child. The plan will be reviewed every term and new targets set as a result of the review. All children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) will have a provision plan and this will be linked to the targets specified in the EHCP.

The Local Offer is a statutory requirement of all local authorities and sets out all the support available in the local area for children and young people with a Special Educational Need. Information can be found on the local offer web site: www.devon.gov.uk/education-and-families/send-local-offer/.

Further support can also be found at Devon Information and Advice service: www.devonias.org.uk or Plymouth Information and Advice Service  www.plymouthias.org.uk

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions how your child will be supported at our school. In addition, I run a SEN surgery every Thursday from 3:20-4:00. If you would like to meet with me, please contact the school office to make an appointment.

Thank you.
